EYE EXAMINATIONS
Eye Examination FAQs
Why should you have an eye test?
Clear, comfortable vision is essential, and we utilize the latest eye examination technology to ensure precise assessments. Regular eye tests not only evaluate your vision but also monitor overall eye health, helping to detect early signs of conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure. You can easily book an eye test with us over the phone. Call us today on 028 2544 1100 or scroll to the bottom of the page to request a callback.
How often should I have an Eye test?
We recommend an eye examination at least every two years for those aged between 16 & 70, in the absence of ocular concerns. For those over 70, or with Diabetes, or Glaucoma, or those over 40 with a family history of Glaucoma, annual assessment is normally advised
What is involved?
Unaided and aided vision (using any glasses or contacts)
Eye muscle function and health
Prescription required for distance & near tasks
Intraocular Pressure (without the ‘puff of air’)
External & Internal ocular health
Additional tests for depth perception, colour vision, and visual fields may be conducted if necessary. We will guide you through each step & discuss in detail outcomes & findings.

Contact Lens Consultation FAQs
Are Contact Lenses Suitable for me?
Contact lenses are an excellent option for many, with recent advancements making them more comfortable, affordable, and effective for clear vision. To discover the best contact lenses for your needs, book an eye exam with us today.
What are the benefits of wearing contact lenses?
Contact lenses offer freedom from glasses, a natural look, and a clear, unobstructed view—perfect for active individuals of all ages. Ideal for sports, dancing, driving, and many other activities, they also allow you to wear any sunglasses of your choice.
Do I need a prescription to buy contact lenses?
Yes, a valid, up-to-date prescription is required for contact lenses. With various lens designs available, only an optometrist or eye specialist can accurately determine and recommend the right lens and prescription for your needs.
What care procedures do I need to be aware of?
Following hygiene practices is essential for contact lens wearers. Always wash and dry your hands before handling lenses. For daily disposables, use a fresh lens each time, discarding after wear. For reusable lenses, rub and rinse them with solution before inserting and storing them. Empty, clean, and air dry your lens case after each use, replacing it regularly. Never use tap water to clean or store lenses—only use the recommended solution and follow instructions carefully. For aftercare appointments, you may need to bring your case and solution with you.
